Beeswax is not engineered for speed. It is designed for presence.
Beeswax behaves differently than conventional waxes. It carries the rhythm of the hive, the season, and the flower fields that it came from. This page is here to help you understand its nature and how to burn it in harmony with its slower, more intentional burn.
What makes beeswax different?
Beeswax is a natural wax created inside the hive. Because of its origin, it is never perfectly uniform, and that is part if its character.
You may notice:
- Natural colour variation
- A soft honeyed scent even when unscented
- A dense slow-burning structure
- The development of surface cracks as it cools
- A soft, natural bloom on the surface of your candle. This is a sign of pure beeswax
Beeswax is not refined into consistency. It is kept close to its origin.
Why does beeswax burn slower than other candles?
Beeswax has a naturally high melting point, which means it burns at a slower, steadier pace than soy or paraffin wax.
This creates:
- A longer-lasting candle
- A more stable flame
- A slower release of fragrance
How should I burn a beeswax candle?
Beeswax rewards a slower, intentional burn.
For best performance:
- Allow the wax to melt as close to the edges as possible on the first burn
- Trim wick before each lighting
- Burn for longer sessions rather than short cycles
On the first couple of burns, your vessel candle may not always reach full melt pool. This is completely normal for pure beeswax. As the candle establishes its memory and burns further down, it will naturally begin to even out and reach a fuller melt pool more consistently.
Beeswax takes time to settle into its rhythm.
Patience is part of the process and also part of what allows the candle to reveal its best burn.
When given space to adjust, beeswax will catch up.

Yes. Pure beeswax is the cleanest burning natural wax available.
When paired with a proper wick and quality natural fragrance oils, it offers:

- Minimal soot

What is in your wildflower seed paper?
Our packaging includes wildflower seed paper that can be planted after use.
This paper is embedded with seeds that are loved by bees and other pollinators. Once planted, it grows into flowers that help support the same ecosystems our beeswax comes from.
Its a small way to give back, extending the life of the product beyond the candle itself.
